POST TITLE: EXTRA CARE DOMESTIC CLEANING ASSISTANT FOR MALTON BASED PROJECT

OVERVIEW OF POSITION

 As part of the Impact Living Extra Care Team, you will ensure any designated areas within the scheme are hygienically cleaned to the highest standard at all times, that all housekeeping duties are carried out in an efficient and timely manner and help to create a warm and friendly atmosphere for our client. This includes working within allocated clients’ own living space as well as communal areas, support office and laundry facility with their associated duties. Good team working skills are essential.  You will be required to take part in any associated training activities in order that you ascertain the skills and knowledge to carry out your role in an effective and safe manner.

The aim is to assist clients to live as independently as possible by supporting them in an empowering way.

Successful applicants are required to provide an enhanced disclosure. Disclosure expense will be met by Impact Living.

All appointments are subject to safer recruitment requirements to ensure the safeguarding of adults. All positions will involve appropriate checks and clearances.

PRIME OBJECTIVES OF THE POST

  • To carry out and work as a team player and on your own initiative within Impact Living in the day-to-day support related to cleaning and housekeeping contract work ensuring it is delivered to a high standard.
  • To undertake a wide range of domestic tasks within Impact Living’s support team for/with individuals who are learning to live independently within Impact’s supported accommodation.
  • To work with the client to help them achieve their support objectives in relation to your role and enjoy a better quality of life by:
      • Developing and sustaining a positive and empowering working relationship with each client allocated to you by the Management Team.
      • Working with your allocated clients for the duration of their extra care and support plan while residing with Impact Living.
      • Providing support and advice about home cleanliness, hygiene and domestic cleaning tasks to clients as part of their care and support plan.
  • The tasks you undertake will be agreed with the client and the Extra Care Worker / Extra Care Team Leader once they have assessed the client’s cleaning and hygiene support needs/requirements.
  • Tasks will be recorded appropriately as an individual task planner and a copy kept in the client’s home. This document will specify your duties for each individual client that you assist and it will be your responsibility to follow this and any other supporting documents and risk assessments; reporting any changes that you or the client identifies.
  • The Extra Care Worker / Extra Care Team Leader will oversee your visit to clients’ homes and they will record any feedback, actions and additional support required.
  • Extra Care Domestic Cleaning Assistants will be responsible for ensuring that clients’ homes are kept in a clean, hygienic and homely condition according to individual needs, wishes and in accordance with Impact Living’s health and safety / housing management policies and procedures regarding cleanliness of its properties and care standards.
  • As part of the Impact Living Extra Care Team, delivering outstanding customer service, you must be able to deal effectively with the public and/or customers from all backgrounds and cultures in a courteous, caring and professional manner.
  • To work and deliver a service which is sensitive to the different needs of all clients from all backgrounds and cultures, which does not discriminate on grounds of sex, marital status, sexual orientation, creed, colour, race, age, class, ethnic origin, religion, HIV status and/or offending background
  • To give attention to detail with every client you will be providing assistance to.
  • To liaise with your team leader to order and check stock / cleaning equipment, ensuring all equipment and products are used and stored in a safe way following health and safety standards and guidelines.
  • To work within the guidelines, policies, procedures and statutory requirements of Impact Living.

POST TITLE: EXTRA CARE TEAM LEADER FOR MALTON BASED PROJECT

OVERVIEW OF POSITION

 To lead a dedicated Extra Care team to oversee the Extra Care and Support provided to clients within your allocated scheme. Taking an invested interest in the management of vulnerable people with more acute specialist needs from all backgrounds and cultures who are either homeless or potentially homeless across the North West and Yorkshire regions. By leading the team effectively, you will deliver a comprehensive quality service for Impact Living’s Extra Care Scheme.

You will report to the Care, Quality and Service Manager of Impact Living. You will take an active role in developing the Extra Care element within our expanding and innovative organisation, ensuring that effective systems, polices and procedures are implemented (in line with Government, CQC and housing legislation). The role also involves taking a lead on compliance with policy and legal requirements on health and safety and equal opportunities.

You will need to be enthusiastic, experienced and motivated with an informed understanding of the issues affecting individuals with Mental Health and Complex Needs.

PRIME OBJECTIVES OF THE POST

  • You will work closely with the Care, Quality and Service Manager and all members of the Extra Care Team to deliver the agreed comprehensive quality service for Impact Living’s Extra Care Scheme. Developing relevant tasks, plans and objectives. In this position you take responsibility to assist and manage your allocated Extra Care related staff, schedules and work outputs relating to your client group.
  • To liaise with management team in the day-to-day running of support, extra care and housing management tasks e.g. support documentation (visitation sheets, support delivery programs, plans, and reviews).
  • To liaise with your Extra Care Team, in relation to extra care related matters for Impact Living clients.
  • You will provide support when needed and contribute to regular reports for senior management when required.
  • You will work with other staff members to implement appropriate ideas and strategies for the organisation.
  • To work within the guidelines, policies, procedures and statutory requirements of Impact Living.
  • To work and deliver a service which is sensitive to the different needs of all people from all backgrounds and cultures, which does not discriminate on grounds of sex, marital status, sexual orientation, creed, colour, race, age, class, ethnic origin, religion, HIV status and/or offending background.
  • To work alongside the Care, Quality and Service Manager and Quality Assurance to ensure all contracts with the LA, NHS, Housing Benefits and any other agencies are managed efficiently with all relevant invoicing and related paperwork completed on a weekly basis.
  • To work alongside the Care, Quality and Service Manager to oversee and agree on client selection and move in processes ensuring that Impact Living’s suitability criteria is being upheld at all times.

RANGE OF DECISION MAKING

You will be required to exercise a high degree of professional judgement, in relation to leading the Extra Care Team, co-ordination and management of time and resources, existing and new internal support, negotiations, training and customer service.

SUPERVISORY / MANAGERIAL RESPONSIBILITIES

To have direct supervisory responsibility in relation to Extra Care staff members and admin this will include placements, trainees and volunteers as assigned.

 SUPERVISION AND GUIDANCE

Reports to Care, Quality and Service Manager, however, will be expected to work on own initiative with high degree of independence, referring to only specified daily reports and complex issues to this person.

To work within the strategies and continually implement new improved systems and training, liaising on a day-to-day basis with relevant finance and housing staff giving guidance when necessary.

You will also respond to guidance from the Care, Quality and Service Manager of Impact Living and any specialist advice from consultants and other identified parties that the Care, Quality and Service Manager deems necessary.


 

POST TITLE: EXTRA CARE TRAINEE SUPPORT ASSISTANT

OVERVIEW OF POSITION

 Reports to:  Extra Care Team Leader / Care, Quality and Service Manager 

Main Relationships:                                                  

Assisting, supporting and working with a client group who have prevalent and complex mental

health needs, ranging from low mood and anxiety to schizophrenia and drug induced psychosis.

Clients would also have multiple other needs ranging from learning difficulties, ADHD, limited life

skills, simple housing related tasks to pending court cases, family breakdown and self-harm.

Your professional relationships will be with the current staff team, including, fellow Housing and

Extra Care, Extra Care Team Leader, Care Quality and Service Manager, Housing Based

Support Manager, the Maintenance Team and Managers, Apprentices and Volunteers.

You will also be expected to have working relationships with the council of the day, local authorities, NHS and relevant agencies. This may include Care Co-ordinators, Social Services, Hospital staff, Early Intervention, Learning Disabilities Services, Drug and Alcohol Services, Emergency Services, Psychologists, GPs, Crisis Teams, other Specialist Services, Lawyers and Family Members

PRIME OBJECTIVES OF THE POST

  • To assist all departments in the day-to-day running and implementation of Impact Living’s support delivery services and continued client satisfaction.
  • To assist the Extra Care Team Leader / Care, Quality and Service Manager to implement and regularly review each client’s care and support plan
  • To work with the client to help them achieve all of their support objectives and enjoy a better quality of life by:
  1. Developing and sustaining a positive and empowering working relationship with each client allocated to you by the Management Team.
  2. Working with your allocated clients for the duration of their care and support plan while residing with Impact Living.
  • Providing support and advice on housing, income, paying bills and budgeting, training, employment, health, mental health, daily tasks and social activities.
  1. Your role will include providing some housing-based support and guidance while taking part in the following activities with your allocated clients.
  • To deliver a comprehensive support program to each of your allocated clients set out by the Extra Care Team Leader / Care, Quality and Service Manager on a daily basis, recording all information online and filing in the chosen system of the day
  • Record all face to face contact outside of a scheduled support visit with your clients ensuring a Support Program Delivery Sheet is signed and filed accordingly.
  • Ensure the Impact Tenant Tracking system is used correctly recording and uploading documents on a daily basis. Personal and medical information should be updated as required and phone contact recorded in the notes section.
  • All documentation should be handed to the Quality Assurance Manager on a daily/weekly basis for inspection and sign off. Information should not remain unfiled for longer than 6 working days.
  • Collection of service charges should be a priority week by week. Budgets should be monitored and measures put in place to ensure each client’s finances are in order. Unpaid service charges should be raised with the housing/finance manager immediately and agreements put in place.
  • On call rotas will be put in place for extended support hours. You will be expected to comply with these rotas claiming overtime back in Lieu. Please be aware that overtime may take 8 weeks to be processed.
  • You must ensure that the agreed support program hours are being fulfilled to the best of your ability and discrepancies being documented and fully explained to the management team.
  • All documents detailing time spent with contracted clients will need to be completed and provided to the contracts teams by end of business Fridays for invoicing purposes.
  • Impact respects and promotes a healthy working relationship with external agencies. Based on this we encourage support teams to have a multi-agency approach by identifying support needs which may be better sign posted to other agencies e.g. drug rehabilitation referrals to specialist agencies.
