JOB DESCRIPTION

POST TITLE: GENERAL MAINTENANCE TRAINEE/APPRENTICE FOR MALTON BASED PROJECT

Below is a detailed but not exhaustive list of duties and you will be expected to perform different tasks as necessitated by your environment and role and the overall business objectives of the whole organisation.

PRIME OBJECTIVES OF THE POST

  • To be a team player and to work on your own initiative within Impact’s Property Services team in the day-to-day maintenance, grounds and/or domestic cleaning work as required ensuring it is delivered to a high standard
  • To carry out all allocated varied maintenance, grounds and/or domestic cleaning tasks to the highest level of skill in the appropriate work
  • In delivery of Impact’s maintenance, grounds and domestic cleaning work you must be able to deal effectively with the public and/or customers from all backgrounds and cultures in a courteous and professional manner ensuring your customer service is delivered to a high standard
  • To ensure all maintenance, grounds and domestic cleaning work is carried out and completed in compliance with current statutory regulations and the company’s Health & Safety Policy
  • To work within the guidelines, policies, procedures and statutory requirements of Impact
  • To work and deliver a service which is sensitive to the different needs of all young people from all backgrounds and cultures, which does not discriminate on grounds of sex, marital status, sexual orientation, creed, colour, race, age, class, ethnic origin, religion, HIV status and/or offending background
  • To carry out your duties at new or future Impact sites and workplaces as and when requested

POST TITLE: GENERAL MAINTENANCE TEAM LEADER FOR MALTON BASED PROJECT

PRIME OBJECTIVES OF THE POST

  • To supervise and be responsible for all assigned Maintenance workers, trainees and apprentices work outputs and activities.
  • To regularly report back on the team to the Service and Contracts Manager, Management team and CEO as and when required.
  • To be a team player and to work on your own initiative within Impact Property Services in the day-to-day maintenance contract and/or domestic work ensuring it is delivered to a high standard.
  • To allocate and carry out all allocated varied maintenance tasks to the highest level of skill in the appropriate contract and/or domestic work.
  • To be responsible for and to manage all resources and equipment designated to you and the Maintenance Team.
  • To be responsible for the guidance and training of volunteers, trainees, new and existing staff assigned to you in matters relating to all aspects of maintenance work, ensuring at all times good working practises.
  • In delivery of Impact’s contract and domestic work you must be able to deal effectively with the public and/or customers from all backgrounds and cultures in a courteous and professional manner ensuring your customer service is delivered to a high standard.
  • To ensure all maintenance work is carried out and completed in compliance with current statutory regulations and the company’s Health & Safety Policy.
  • To work within the guidelines, policies, procedures and statutory requirements of Impact.

 SUPERVISION AND GUIDANCE

Reports to CEO, Service and Contracts Manager and Impact’s Management Team, however, will be expected to work in own initiative with high degree of independence, referring only specified daily reports and complex issues to the CEO.

To work within the strategies and continually implement new improved systems and training, liaising on a day-to-day basis with Service and Contracts Manger and Human Resources, giving guidance when necessary.

You will also respond to guidance from the Chief Executive Officer of Impact and any specialist advice from consultants and other identified parties that the Chief Executive deems necessary.

IN RELATION TO THE TEAM

  • To facilitate, attend and participate in company meetings such as Maintenance Team briefings, etc. as required.
  • To provide cover in relation to all aspects of maintenance on occasional basis for absent colleagues and staff.
  • To attend appropriate training courses and participate in skill sharing sessions with the team.
